Anna Mae Blurton was born February 16, 1921 at Cottonwood Point, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Vester Glenn Hicks and the late Frances Irene Kyle Hicks. She departed this life in Hayti, Missouri on January 18, 2017. She was 95 years old.
On February 14, 1939 in Caruthersville, Missouri she was united in marriage to Mr. Melvin Chester "Smiley" Blurton. He preceded her in death in 1970.
Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Pam Brantley and her husband, Terry, Caruthersville, Missouri, one son, Doug Blurton and his wife, Betty, Memphis, Tennessee, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Ruth Hicks Taylor and a brother, John Henry Hicks.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment followed in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Serving as pall bearers were her grandsons. H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
