GEORGE S. BLUE
George Sigler Blue, son of Andrew and Eliza J. Blue, was born Christmas Day, 1867, and departed this life on December 28, 1946, at the age of 79 years and 3 days.
He was united in marriage to Avis June Callahan on October 15, 1899, and to this union two sons were born, Earl R. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Warren C., of near Russell.
Mr. and Mrs. Blue made their home on the farm south of Russell for many years. In 1926 they moved to Russell, where he as since lived. His wife passed away March 18, 1936.
He was converted and united with the Trinity Evangelical church in young manhood.
Besides his sons and their wives, he is survived by five grandchildren, Robert and Ronald, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Earl R. Blue; and Clayton, Gerald and Barbara, children of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Blue; one brother, Walter of Chariton; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Kells, of Russell, and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Blue was well known in and around Russell, where he has lived his entire life. A long and useful life, marked with honest dealing has heen his portion, and he will be greatly missed in the community.
The funeral service, conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals, was held in the Baptist church of Russell on Tuesday afternoon, December 31, 1946, and burial was made in the Russell cemetery. Pall bearers were Grant LaFavre, Orval Cottingham, Elbert Dixon, William Relph, Tom Jeffries and Perry McKinley.
