Ancil "Al" Blount, 87, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Service: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Ancil was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Gainesville to Myrtle and John Blount. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #942 for 50 years and retired from the Rock Island Railroad. Ancil was a member of the Lake Worth Senior Citizens as well as the Diamond Hill Senior Citizens. He was also involved with the Salvation Army. Ancil was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Smith; son-in-law, Joe Mayfield; granddaughter, Meagan Hughes; and four brothers.
Survivors: Wife, Norma Blount; daughter, Cherie Mayfield; grandchildren, Stacy Mayfield, Amy Atchison and husband, Stephen, Wendy McCrory and husband, Eric, Paula Carter and husband, Teddy, Alyshia Smith and Bill Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jim and Carl Blount.
