TO MRS. HILL

DeKalb Woman Answers the Call
of the Death Angel.

LIVED HERE LONG

Deceased Was Mother of Mrs. Bertha Duffey
of This City and Has Been Spending the Summer
at the Home of Another Daughter at Wayne, Ill.,
Where She Died.

Mrs. Dan Hill, who has been spending the summer with her daughter, Mrs. William Burns of Wayne, Ill., died there yesterday at her daughter's home. Mrs. Bertha Duffey of this city was at the bedside of her mother when the end came at two thirty o'clock. Mrs. Hill was seventyfive years of age and her death was due to old age. For the past three weeks she has been in a very serious condition.
Mrs. Hill was born in Bullyck, Northamptonshire, England, on May 27th, 1835, and she was married to Daniel Hill in 1858, at Lofman, England. In 1891 she and her husband came to the United States and nearly all of that time she has been a resident of DeKalb. Mr. Hill passed away several years ago and Mrs. Hill leaves the following children: Mrs. Row Smith of Holkum, Rutland, England; Mrs. Minnie White of Lyons, Iowa; Mrs. Clifton Wooley, England; Mrs. John Moore, Northamptonshire, England;
George Hill, Saskatchewan, Canada; Mrs. Bertha Duffey, DeKalb; Mrs. William Burns, Wayne, Ill.; Mrs. John Burns, Woodland, Cal.; Mrs. Clarence Petrie, Sycamore, and Fred Hill of Palisade, Idaho. One sister and brother, Mrs. Harry White and Horace Blount, both of this city survive.
Mrs. Hill is a well known and respected resident of our city and hundreds of friends will grieve at her death. She has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Duffey, a great deal. Funeral services are to be held tomorrow afternoon at two-thirty from St. Paul's Episcopal church here and the burial is to be at Oakwood cemetery.
