She was born June 20, 1916 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Harry G. Morris and Bertha Press.
Dorothy was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School, she then attended Stevens Henager Business College. Dorothy in the 1940s' was sometimes singer for the Merry Makers Dance Band.
Dorothy along with Florence Fetzer served as Cub Scout leaders for twenty-five years. Dorothy also sold Tupperware plastic products for nine years. Dorothy was introduced to her soon to be husband by the daughter of West High School principle Mr. Baker.
Dorothy and Randall Bloomfield were married on June 18, 1937. They lived for a year Markea Avenue; they then moved to a home at 5th South and 8th East that had been purchased by Dorothy's grandfather Albert Press. Dorothy and Randall were married for sixty-nine years. They joined the LDS Church in 1966 and were later sealed in the Sale Lake Temple in 1967.
Dorothy is survived by her son Robert R. Bloomfield and wife Cathy; three grandchildren: John, Heather, and Tammy; step-granddaughter Nattalie; seven great-grandchildren: Daniel, Sierra, Cheyenne, Kelby, Sadia, Hannah, and Chloe; two great-great-grandchildren: Bella and Cassie. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Randall in 2006, and younger brother Harry Morris Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary and also on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. prior to the services.
Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
