"Mrs. Edith F. Bliss of Portlandville, died Wednesday, May 12, at Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, where she had been a patient for about a week. Mrs. Bliss was born in Bloomville, the daughter of Willis B. and Mary E. (Davidson) Forman. She was married to Lynn J. Bliss in Oneonta on June 7, 1924. She owned and oeprated rest homes for the aged in Colliers, Milford and Oneonta area for more than 20 years. She had resided at Portlandville for the past two years and previously lived in Milford for about five years. She was a member of the United Prebyterian Church of Oneonta. Surviving are her husband; a son, Donald E. Bliss and a grandson, Duane D. Bliss, both of Oneonta, and a sister, Mrs. Lena File of Mechanicville. Funerl services were held at 1:30 p. m. on Saturday, May 15, from the Bookhout Funeral Home in Oneonta, with the Rev. Merlin A. Ditmer, Jr., pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
