Bossier City, LA - A Service to celebrate the life of Ruthy Evelyn Johnson Bledsoe will be Friday, January 6, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at First United Pentecostal Church, 2833 Viking Dr. in Bossier City, where she was a faithful member for over 30 years. Officiating the service will be Rev Jerry Dean, of First United Pentecostal Church and Rev David Scott, of Oak Park Church in Jonesboro, GA. Following the service, interment will be at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at First United Pentecostal Church, Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.

Ruthy Evelyn Johnson Bledsoe was born October 9, 1919, in Vernon Parish. She passed away on January 2, 2012, after a long and happy life.

Evelyn was the second of seven children of Henry and Ellie Woods Johnson. Evelyn married Everett Bledsoe, in 1936. They were married for 52 years and had nine children.

She was very creative. Painting, sewing and furniture making were a few of her hobbies. She loved her family, friends and church family. God called her home, but we will cherish the memory of a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother.

Evelyn was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Ellie Johnson; her husband, Everett Bledsoe; brothers Willard & Marvin Johnson; grandchildren Candy Bledsoe Allen, Anthony Lynn Bledsoe, David Bledsoe; son-in-law, Lynn Lowe; and her "partner in crime," a very special friend Edna Johnson.

Evelyn is survived by sons, Henry Bledsoe and wife Rosa of Dry Prong, LA; Everett L. Bledsoe and wife Marilyn of Dry Prong, LA; Doyle Bledsoe and wife Bonnie of Raymond, MS; and Glenn Bledsoe and wife Sharon of Bossier City, LA. She is survived by daughters, Jean Lowe of Garland, AR; Delcia Fuentes and husband Alex of Bossier City, LA; Carolyn Goss and husband Mike of Bossier City, LA; Sandra King and husband Donny of Bossier City, LA; and Janice Smoak and husband Malcolm of Bossier City, LA. She is survived by grandchildren, Mike Lowe, Ruthie Lowe, Martha Robertson, Eddie Bledsoe, Jeff Bledsoe, Steve Bledsoe, Brandi Lerma, Courtney Evans, Ashley Rayford, James Bledsoe, Jason Bledsoe, Stephanie Sandlin, Jared Goss, Kristopher Bledsoe, Kendall Bledsoe, Brad Smoak, and Brandon Smoak and great grandchildren, Warren Robertson, Michael Bledsoe, Jeremy Bledsoe, Jessica Bledsoe, Neithan Allen, Tiffany Fuller, Travis Bledsoe, Bryan Bledsoe, Kimberlyn Bledsoe, Trent Lerma, Lynden Strickland, Nathan Olvey, Wesley Evans, Tyler Rayford, Jacob Rayford, Jaydn Bledsoe, Kyleigh Bledsoe, Ashton Sandlin, Dakotah Sandlin, Ambry Sandlin, and Jett Bledsoe.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the Mission Fund, c/o of First United Pentecostal Church of Bossier City or to the charity of your choice .

The family would like to thank the kind, caring staff of Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home for the excellent care given to our mother. She loved her little 'apartment' and the staff. A special thanks to the Willis Knighton Bossier staff of the 3 North floor and the 4 West Stepdown.
