Claude M. Blanton was born May 25, 1879, at Orangeville, the son of William Blanton and Alice Nicholson. He departed this life August after an illness of two weeks. Funeral and burial services were held at Burns Cemetery, east of Trenton.
Mr. Blanton was married to Miss Fannie Hunter on Dec. 21, 1898. To this union was born one child, a daughter, Mrs. Earl Hansard. His wife died April 2, 1901. On Nov. 8, 1903, he was married to Miss Beulah Wakefield. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive.
Mr. Blanton was converted at the age of 21 years and joined the Presbyterian Church. He was a good, honest man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances. He always had a cheery word of greeting for everyone.
He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Earl Hansard, Tom Bean; Artis Blanton, Brownfield, and J. P. Blanton and Mrs. Alton Robinson of Orangeville and by 5 grandchildren. He and his wife also reared a nephew, Eddie Felton, from childhood. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Will Blanton, Port Arthur ; Dee and Roscoe Patterson, Trenton ; Mrs. Proctor Carter, Lockney, and Mrs. O. G. Smith, Trenton.
