Mr. Paul William Blankenship, age 79, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 3, 2017 following an extended illness. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Polk County, GA the son of Charlie Van Blankenship and Emma Cole Blankenship. He had worked for the Newark Paper Board and retired as a supervisor following many years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and was a ordained deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Van and Emma Cole Blankenship; sisters, Charlene King and Shelby Millican; a son in law, Johnny Maddox and his wife of fifty two years, Pansy J. Blankenship.
Paul Blankenship is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Paulette & David Beck, Tammy & Michael Hall, Nanette Combs and Emily Smith; his brothers in law, Edward Millican and Yogi Lorren; a sister in law, Judy Fincher; his grandchildren, Tommy Brown, Madison Combs, Shree Beck, Jamie Brand, Misha Carnes and Karen Cline; his great grandchildren, Jayden and Noah Smith, Thomas Vines, Lexi Rhinehart, Christopher and Caleb Keane. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Paul William Blankenship will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Harrell and Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
The following Gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Kyle Blankenship, William "Junior" Blankenship, Eddie Britt, Doug Blake, Randy Stephens, Perry Weaver, Terry Brand and Justin Baker. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Paul William Blankenship.
