Agnes M. Hillis Blankenship, 88, formerly of Sikeston, MO, died May 2, 2002, at Cahokia Nursing and Rehab.
She was born May 29, 1913, in Williamsville, MO.
She was married to Joseph E. Thompson Jr. who preceded her in death.
She then married Conliff Blankenship who also preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Major Joseph E. Thompson III; one daughter, Pamela Jean Thompson; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors include: three daughters, Reba Kilhafner, Ruth Ann Clifford Downs and Carolyn Lee Barnett; one sister, Edna Troxell; and 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was at the Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia where services were conducted. The Rev. James Smith officiated.
Graveside services were scheduled at the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, MO.

Mrs. Agnes Thompson of Morehouse was united in marriage to Leon Payne of Sikeston Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10:00 a.m. at the New Madrid Court House. Rev. W. M. Griffin of Morehouse performed the ceremony. His parents Mr. and Mrs. Lon Payne of Morehouse, were the only attendants.
A wedding dinner was held Sunday at the home of the former.
Those attending were the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Payne, the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hillis of Dexter, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Kilhafner and children of Little Rock and Carolyn Thompson of the home. They will make their home in Sikeston, where he is employed at the International Shoe Factory.
