Danville-- Dorothy Mae Blankenship, age 88, passed away Thursday April 19, 2012 at the Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg, Florida. Dorothy was born in Danville, Kentucky and moved to the Leesburg area in 1988 from Lancaster, Kentucky.

She took great pride in the fact that she was able to serve her country during W. W. II as a Yeoman 2nd Class in the Navy. She was a retired Accountant and retired from the Christian Appalachian Project.

She will be remembered as a person who loved to be active. She enjoyed boating, bowling and golf but most of all she enjoyed taking Cruises.

She was pre-deceased by her Husband Thomas Blankenship Jr. and a Sister Imogene Tredo. She is survived by: 3 Daughters – Dianne Travillian, Louisville, KY; Debra Travillian, Lawrenceburg, KY; and Toni Fowler, NJ; 5 grandchildren – Georgianna; Jeremy; Candace; Brandon and Stephania; and 16 great-grandchildren and a Sister – Anna Bella Gordon, Danville, KY

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Travillian, Brandon Travilian, Auztin Doyle, Stephan Carpenter and Benjamin Doyle

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 5pm-9pm at Preston-Pruitt Funeral home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 12:00PM at the funeral home with Chaplain
