Stella Josephine "Jo" Clower Blake , 82, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, April 07, 2013 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV after a courageous 9 year battle with Alzheimer's.

Born May 10, 1930 at Fayetteville, WV she was the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Pearl E. Clower.

Jo was a retired Food Services Director for Fayette Co. Board of Education.

She was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church and a later member of the Avon Park United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Fayette Nursing and Rehab, where she resided for the past 4 years, for their loving care and patience.

Her husband, Samuel E. "Sam" Blake; two brothers, Bernie and Archie Clower and three sisters, Mary Simpkins, Minnie Aliff and Margaret Christian preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, John Blake and wife, June of Oak Hill; daughter, Debra Welsh and husband, Patrick of Jacksonville, FL; four sisters, Mildred Clower of St. Albans, Virginia McDaniel of Avon Park, FL, Cam Simpkins of Chewelah, WA and Meta Evans of West End, NC; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Graveside rites and committal services will be on April 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Rev. Ralph Shupe officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
