Obituary from Hutchinson News, 3/12/1908, pg. 4:

Mrs. J.T. Blaine, whose maiden name was Annie J. Havens, was born near Marshalltown, Iowa, Feb. 10, 1852, and died at Huntsville, March 3, 1908, being 56 years and 22 days old. She lived in Iowa until 1868 when with her parents she moved to St. Joseph, Mo., where on November 7, 1876, she was united in marrige to Mr. J.T. Blaine.

She was of a family of thirteen children and was herself the mother of thirteen children, eleven of whom are still living, seven girls and four boys.

Mrs. Blaine was a talented woman and for a number of years was a teacher in the public schools of Missouri. She was a member of the orders of the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors, and an earnest worker in these orders. She was converted in childhood and joined the Christian church. About eleven years ago she united with the M.E. church at Huntsville and was a faithful member until death.

The funeral was held from the M.E. church on Thursday, March 3, conducted by her pastor, Rev. I.A. Barthelmew, assisted by the ladies of the camp of Royal Neighbors. The burial was at Huntsville cemetery.

The large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors and many wreaths of beautiful flowers spoke of the high esteem in which she was held. Truly she was a good woman who loved the beautiful and true and was devoted to her family, her church and her God.
