Frederick G. Blacker, 72, a former resident of Fithian and Danville, passed away Sunday, September 17, 1944, at his home, 1203 West Clark Street, Urbana. Obsequies were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, September 20, at the Wilcox and Wycoff funeral home in Urbana, followed by internment in the Fithian-Muncie Stearns Cemetery.

Mr. Blacker was born in Iowa, Jan. 4, 1872, the son of Luke and Rebecca Blacker. His parents, who were farmers, brought him to Illinois during his childhood. For the last 30 years, he had made his home in Urbana. He worked for the University of Illinois for a number of years and later did trucking as long as his health would permit. He had been in failing health for two years.

Mr. Blacker was married November 17, 1897, to Miss Allie Rueb. One son died at the age of two years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Verla Fox, Easton, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Kenneth and Billy Fox, and a number of nieces and nephews.
