Lewis Anderson Blackburn, 82, Frankfort, passed away February 11, 2008, in his residence.

Mr. Blackburn served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 12 and VFW. He worked for the railroad and then retired from Ingram-Richardson Co.

He was an avid gardener and well known for all the lawns that he mowed for several years.

He was born April 12, 1925, in Scircleville to Orville and Annie Blackburn. He married Ruth A. Cheek on December 28, 1945, and they later divorced. He married Esther Lowder on October 10, 1979, and she preceded him in death on January 1, 1990.

Surviving is a daughter, Patty (Gary) King of Morrisville, North Carolina; six sons, John (Natalie) Blackburn of Frankfort, Paul (Kim) Blackburn of New Mexico, Jerry (Mary) Blackburn of Elwood, Dave (Jeanne) Blackburn of Morristown, Tennessee, Steve (Maureen) Blackburn and Kenny (Marsha) Blackburn, both of Lafayette; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Milburn of Michigantown.

He was preceded in death by a son Ron Blackburn.
