Arriving in Vietnam 22 April 1968 Harvey was assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, USARV.
While on a combat patrol the company was engaged by hostile forces and Harvey died as result of a hostile gunshot wound to the body.
Survived by his wife, Janie P Black of Route #2, Box 591, Hawkinsville, Georgia.
