George H. Black was born May 17, 1922, in Grant County to Clifford and Alice (Hayes) Black. He married Marie Schoby in Lincolnville on Aug. 24, 1939. She survives.
He was an employee of the General Tire and Rubber Co. and a World War II veteran of the Navy.
Also surviving are three sons, Carl D., James D., and George W.; three daughters, Mrs. DeWayne (Susanne) Flynn, Katherine Black, and Mrs. David (Sara) Sanders; one brother, Leonard Black; five sisters, Mrs. Joe (Bertha) Weaver, Mrs. Raymond (Charlotte) Speicher, Mrs. Ernest (Ava) Jones, Mrs. Lester (Mable) Kiefer, and Mrs. Carroll (Harriett) Manship; and six grandchildren.
