Arthur Ray Blackmore, Sr., 72, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017, after several years of battling congestive heart failure. Born January 3, 1945, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, as Barry Carlson, he was adopted by Harold Woolley Blackmore and Gwendolyn Williams Blackmore on December 31, 1946 as Arthur Ray Blackmore.

The family began in Rosemary, Alberta, and then moved to Lister, British Columbia early in 1947. At the age of 16 Arthur immigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah. His siblings are: Tom, Jim, Bonnie, Lorna, Nola, Dean, Dale, Lane and Lynn from his mother Gwen; Steven, Craig, Brenda, Wendy, and Marla from his mother Florence.

Arthur worked in trucking, real estate, and housing development. He was an entrepreneur that wore many hats, worked hard, and was always looking for his next project. He was well known for community involvement in Colorado City, Arizona.

His family and his religion were what he valued most in life. Arthur mentored and inspired many people by encouraging education and hard work. He was proud to be known as a man of his word that would help anyone in need. Arthur had a charismatic personality and loved a good joke. He adored children and animals. He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.

Arthur married Nurylon Bistline in 1965, Rosalee Bistline in 1977, and Muriel (Myrna) Cooke in 1991. He is survived by Rosalee and Muriel (Myrna), as well as his children, Linda Cooke, Carolyn Moroney, Annette Jessop, Arthur Jr., Claine, Darrel, Lydia Jessop, Joseph (J.R.), Carl, Jennifer, Winston, Rosalee Barlow, Christopher, Elisa, Shirley, William, Vergel, Curtis, Anne, Matthew, Justin, Juliana Beaver, Wendell Jessop, Thelma, Lee Jessop, Michelle Bulloch, Tracy Jeffs, Jared Jessop, Clarissa, Joshua, Rachel, Raymond, and his favorite puppy Zara.

He is preceded in death by his spouse Nurylon, his daughters Nurylon and Karen, and sons Dan Jessop III and Lehi.

The viewing will be held Friday, August 25, 5:00-8:00 PM at Spilsbury Mortuary 110 S Bluff St, St George, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 26, 1:00 PM at the LDS church in Hurricane, Utah 270 South 700 West, Hurricane, UT. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Isaac Carling Memorial Park in Colorado City, Arizona.
