Anna T. Bitsie, 68, of Kirtland, died Wednesday Oct. 25, 2006. She was born in Naschitti to the late Martin Francisco and Olive Manuelito.

Anna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Mission in Tohatchi. Some of her favorite hobbies were baking, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and spending lots of time with her grandchildren. She retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs Food Service Department at Tohatchi Boarding School and Chuska School.

Anna is survived by her husband, Arthur Bitsie, and 4 daughters; Brenda Begay, Sylvia Bitsie, Delphinyia Clah from Kirtland, and Elanora Nez from Flagstaff, Ariz. She is also survived by her brother, Nelson Francisco from Naschitti; sisters, Lilly Francisco and Juanita of Naschitti, Lorena Carl of Page, Ariz., and Ruby Johnson of Shiprock.

Anna is preceded in death by her son, Reniel Bitsie; two brothers, Herman Francisco and Henry Francisco; and sister, Eva Nabahe.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at Cope Memorial Kirtland Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 30, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Mission in Tohatchi. Interment will be at Lone Pine Cemetery in Mexican Springs.
