She was born in Valdosta, GA on December 30, 1984. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brianna; mother, Reba, and sister Brittany.
Ashley is survived by her spouse, Danny Hamrick; sons, Danny Ray and Dalton Lee James Hamrick; parents, Mikki and Shirley Bishop; siblings, Tyler McCormick, Christina McCormick, Rick Gossett, Bob Gossett, Stacey Gossett; grandparents, James and Wynette Bishop, David Medyette, Reba Frazee; uncle, David Bishop; aunt, Misty Bishop; cousins, Savannah Bishop, Jay Bishop, and many other family members.
As a teenager, Ashley was multifaceted. She loved sports and was active in softball, playing on several school and church teams. Additionally, she participated in the Law Enforcement Explorer Program sponsored by the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
Very early on, Ashley wanted a career working with special needs children – primarily in a school system with hearing impaired individuals and Early Childhood Development; however, her career focus went in a different direction when diagnosed with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH). She earned an Associate Degree in Health Administration with aspirations of obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Health Administration. Her goal was to work with physicians whose primary focus was on pulmonary and critical care medicine. While studying for her associate degree, Ashley also co-chaired a support group seeking a better quality of life for PPH patients and their families.
Ashley was a loving and compassionate person. She always placed the needs of her husband and children before her own desires because her greatest joy was that of being a wife and a mother.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Reed Benson officiating.
Interment at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
