Hazel Garrett Hogan Bishop, loving mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on April 29, 2003.
Born April 29, 1915 in Bountiful, Utah to Lester Owen Garrett and Emma Handy. Married Franklin Wood Hogan, December 6, 1933 in Salt Lake City. Sealed in the LDS Temple, October 3, 1935. Frank passed away June 2, 1943 in Woods Cross, Utah. Married Parley Abraham Bishop, October 20, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Parley passed away July 12, 1990. Also preceded in death by daughter, Marilyn Thompson and son, Robert G. Hogan.
A longtime employee of Safeway, she retired after many years of service. She was a member of the LDS Church and was proud of her days as a member of her ward choir. Grandma had many happy memories from serving in the Salt Lake Temple. "Granny Great" had a strong mind and will of her own and will be missed by those whose lives she blessed.
Survived by daughter, Patricia Opoulos; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Villa for the care given to grandma in her final days.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2020 South 200 West. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main.
