James E. "Jack" Bishop, age 78, of Mountain City, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born August 7, 1934 in Wyco, West Virginia, a son to the late Dana and Mamie Garland Bishop. Jack served in the U.S. Army and was a member of West Hills Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dallas Bishop, Kermit Bishop and Delano Bishop.
He is survived by:
Daughters: Cathy Armstrong and husband Rick, Cyndi Thomas
Granddaughters: McKinnley Thomas, Morgan Armstrong and Jordan Armstrong
Great Granddaughter: Addisyn Brooke
Brother: Elmer W. "Pete" Bishop
Several Nieces and Nephews
The graveside service for Mr. Bishop will be held 10 am, Monday, May 6, 2013 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pat Mooney officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at Weaver Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at 223 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, Suite 301
