George was the son of Thomas Swindell and Louella "Simcoe" Bingham. He married Emily E. Frier. They ranched in Lea County. They were the parents of 3 children.

AREA RANCHER DIES IN HOBBS
G.H. "Towhead" Bingham, lifelong Lea County Rancher, died Wednesday evening at Hobbs Lea General Hospital following an illness of several weeks duration.
Born on October 17, 1908 at Monument, New Mexico, he had engaged in ranching all his life, the ranch home being 35 miles west of Hobbs on the Carlsbad Highway.
Bingham was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lovington, the New Mexico Cattle Grower's Association, the Open Range Cowboys and the Mended Hearts Club, in relation to heart surgery just over a year ago.
He is survived by his wife, Emily, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Beth Nave, and Mrs. Raye Reed, both of Hobbs; one son Tom, of Hobbs; and by four sisters, Mrs. Mary Frances Hamilton, Mrs. Tommie Lou Cooper, and Mrs. Mildred Lasley, all of Hobbs and Mrs. Hope Hazlewood of Stanton, Texas, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Lovington with Rev. James Miller, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Hobbs and Rev Kenneth Ford, pastor of the Lovington Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Lovington Cemetery under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
Mr. Bingham will lie in state at the funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Friday at which time the casket will be closed and remain closed.
