October 1, 2003 Charlotte Britton Biggart, a homemaker and longtime Darien resident, died Monday, Sept. 29, at home. She was 77. She died of heart failure, according to her family. Born April 23, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late George H. and Loretta Wade Britton. Mrs. Biggart was a graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, N.Y. She lived in Darien for 48 years. She volunteered at the Family & Children's Agency in Norwalk, belonged to Wee Burn Country Club in Darien and was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Darien. She is survived by two sons, James H. Biggart Jr. of Cheshire and Robert K. Biggart of Darien; three daughters, Elizabeth W. Biggart of Stanford, Calif., Anne B. Bowers of Berwyn, Pa., and Amy B. Curry of Newtown; three sisters, Ann Sweeney of Pawling, N.Y., Wynola "Nicki" Pelton of Whispering Pines, N.C., and Sara Leehey of West Hills, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Biggart. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien, with the Rev. J. Barry Furey officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. The family will greet friends at Wee Burn Country Club after the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Thomas More Church Outreach Fund, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien, CT 06820-2517; or to Family & Children's Agency Inc., 9 Mott Ave., Norwalk, CT 06850-3330. The Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, is handling arrangements.
