"Charles Bickel, who was born and grew to splendid manhood, in Mound City, died at his home in Centralia, Kansas, May 28, 1914. He was born in 1879, and was therefore, 35 years of age at the time of death.
He was married in Mound City, March 2, 1899, to Miss Ettie Bender, who with five children, survives. Brief funeral services were held at Centralia, and the body was brought to Mound City and funeral services were held from the M.E. Church, Sunday last.
He was identified with the I.O.O.F., Modern Woodmen and Woodmen of the World, all of these societies taking part in the funeral services.
He had been a rural mail carrier at Centralia for several years. Mrs. Andrew Tochterman, of this city, is a sister-in-law."
