She married Herschel R. Bailey on August 13, 1960 in Monticello. Survivors include her husband; Herschel Bailey of Monticello, sons; Scott (Christina) Bailey of Monticello and Dan (Dawn) Bailey of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren; Michael (Tara), Patrick, Nicholas, Andrew, Zach, Samantha, and Ethan, great grandchildren; JD, Jax, and Leena, brother; Gary (Gail) Bickel of Monticello, and a sister; Shelley (Joe) Hayes of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Karen retired as a receptionist for Dr. William Mundt. Karen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello, the Red Hat Club and the Kirby Medical Center Auxiliary. Karen enjoyed living for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them play sports.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Katie Hopper officiating.
Interment will be in the Monticello Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Health Transplant Program Madison, WI
