JONESBOROUGH - Dorothy I. Ayers, 76, of Telford, died Monday at Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Ayers was a native of Greene County, a daughter of the late Issac and Della Ricker Bible.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Ayers retired from Magnavox, which later became Philips Consumer Electronics Co., in Greeneville.

Survivors include six sons and three daughters-in-law: Floyd and Deborah Ayers, and Clyde Ayers, all of Limestone, Gene and Linda Ayers, and Kenneth Ayers, all of Jonesborough, Charles "Buck" and Frances Ayers and Phil Ayers, all of Telford; two daughters and a son-in-law: Charlotte and Ernest "Red" Clevinger of Kingsport and Janice Moore of Johnson City; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Tommy Bible of White Pine and Dewey Bible of Idaho; nine sisters: Ruby Lynch, Hazel McNeese, Audrey Casteel, and Glennis Burns, all of Baileyton, Dollie Moore of Del Rio, Georgia Strong of Mosheim, and Gladys Moore, Vera Derayne, and Nancy Bowers, all of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and a brother, J.D. Bible.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough and other times at the home of Floyd Ayers.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Don Hilton and Larry Cox will officiate.

A graveside service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning in Washington County Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Tony Clevinger, Joe Lynch, Todd Ayers, Brad Ayers, Leroy Lynch, James Moore, Eddie Ayers, and Donnie Moore
