The body of Mr. Alfred Bibby was found dead in the waiting room at the Junction depot, Monday afternoon. A pistol lay beside the body, and death had been caused by a shot in the head. Mr. Dutton, the station master, heard the shot, about 11:30 o'clock, while he was 150 yards away from the building, but thought nothing of it, and the body was not observed until about 1:30, when a freight train stopped there, and Frank Healey, engineer, called Mr. Dutton's attention to it. The pistol had been placed close to his head, and death must have been instantaneous. It appears probable that, instead of going to the city, as usual, on the morning train, Mr. Bibby walked into the Junction - and it is said that he went as far as Fairfax and returned to the station - and there in a fit of depression, committed the rash act. The deceased was an importer of kid gloves. He had resided in San Rafael for some time, doing business in the city, and leaves a wife and daughter here. No papers were left, so far as known, to show premeditation. Alfred Bibby was a native of New York, aged 46 years.
