Willard J. Bevans, 81, of Kewanee died Tuesday May 4,2010 at Kewanee Hospital. Private funeral services will be Saturday May 8, 2010 at the Schueneman & Tumbleson funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Rafalko officiating. There will be no visitation, and burial will be private. Military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council at the funeral home.
Willard was born September 19, 1928 in Galva, Illinois the son of Willard and Madalyn (Sprague) Bevans. He was educated in the Galva schools, and Kewanee schools where he graduated. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
He married Alyce Stringer in 1954 and they later divorced, he then married Peggy Holz Dunn May 19, 1983 in Galva. She survives as well as 1 son Scott (Brenda) Bevans of Elburn, Il, 1 daughter Lynne Bullock of Galva, also surviving are 1 step-son Michael (Hilda) Dunn of Richmond, Va. and 1 step-daughter Mrs. Brian (Kathleen) Rashid of Bettendorf, IA. 7 grandchildren survive and 1 great granddaughter.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, 1 step-son James Dunn in 2006, and his favorite dog Cindy Lou. Willard worked for 30 years at John Deere as a spot welder in the harvester works.

Willard enjoyed playing the piano, listening to music and the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a great faith in the Lord.
