Aileen Edra Bevans, 77, died Sunday in Klamath Falls.
She was born to Edward T. and Amy Jackson on March 29, 1910, in Deadwood South Dakota.
She graduated from high school in Deadwood in 1927 and from Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, S.D. in 1929.
She attended Wichita University for a year in 1930, then taught third grade in Belle Fourche, S.D., from 1930 to 1932.
On May 27, 1932, she married Gerald W. Bevans, who was also a teacher. They moved to Wallowa in 1941 where they both taught before moving to Klamath Falls in 1947.
She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon, then taught first grade at Ferguson School for 19 years retiring in 1975.
Mrs. Bevans was a member of Eastern Star, Wallowa; the Retired Teachers Association and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Dean, Klamath Falls; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Beverly Bevans, Olympia, Wash.; six grandchildren, Eric Dean, U.S. Army; Leslie Dean, Klamath Falls; Jerry and Lisa Bevans, Seattle; Kelly Bevans Williams, Sacramento; Nick Bevans, Olympia, Wash.; and two great-granddaughters, Calista and Rhea Bevans, Seattle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Bevans, in 1969, her parents, and a brother Dwight Jackson, in 1963.
