Geraldine Betsworth, 76, of Le Mars passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at her home in Le Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Father James Tigges officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitations will be after 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church with a 4:00 p.m. Parrish Rosary followed by a 7:00 p.m. Scriptural Wake Service. The family will be present after 6:00 p.m. to greet friends Friday evening at the church. Visitations will continue Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Johnson, Sam Pratt, Luke Pratt, Travis Smith, Nick Nicholson, and Matt Nicholson. Honorary casketbearers will be Lacy Johnson and Alex Betsworth.

Geraldine Allard was born July 22, 1931 in rural Plymouth County, Iowa to Orice and Adeline (Eckerman) Allard. Geraldine was united in marriage to Dwight E. Betsworth on October 23, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa. Dwight passed away on April 16, 2003.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Darwin and Laura Betsworth; 7 daughters: Cindy Johnson and her husband Larry, Marcia Pratt and her husband Al, Gayla Weiler and her husband Bob, Joyce Grosenheider and her husband Scott, Diana Rann and her husband Rollin, Karmen Betsworth, and Susan Nicholson and her husband Phil; 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Armstrong and her husband John; a brother, Ron Allard and his wife Carlene; 4 step children, Dan Betsworth, Kathi Benner and her husband Mike, Karin Jungers and her husband Tom, and Patricia Tremmel and her husband Jim; and several step grandchildren.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Orice and Adeline (Eckerman) Allard; her husband, Dwight Betsworth; and two sisters in infancy.
