CORVALLIS--Chester E. Bethell, 80, 700 N.W. 5th St, died Saturday at a Corvallis nursing home.
Born in Mansfield, Ark., he moved to the Stayton area in 1935, later lived in Monmouth and came to Corvallis in 1959. He was an Army veteran of World War I and member of American Legion and the grange.
Surviving are widow Opal; sons Hoyt, Lynnwood, Wash., Harvey, Tacoma, Norman, Albany, Donald, Philomath; brother, Ira, Selma, Calif; sister Mrs. Nan Graham, Vancouver, Wash; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at McHenry Mortuary, Elder James Kilmer officiating. Interment will be in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. The casket will be open 5 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. The family suggests contributions to American Cancer Society.
