NEW CONCORD - Violet A. Best, 92, of Chandlersville, formerly of New Concord, died at 1:10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Beckett House in New Concord.
She was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late William and Agnes Robinson Hennen. She was a member of the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church and was a former receptionist for Dr. R.S. Young, dentist, for eight years.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Stanley) Dickson of New Concord, Marilyn (Tom) Williams of Zanesville, Becky (Mohamed) Mahmoud of Columbus and Robin (Joe) Tom of Chandlersville; grandchildren, Cindy (Jery) Piszczek of Medina, Paul Dickson of New Concord, Robert (Sarah) Dickson of New Concord, Cathy (Chris) Stemm of Wadsworth, Tom (Debbie) Williams of Zanesville John (Tammy) Little of Columbus, James (Shirley) Little of Columbus, B.J. (Melissa) Tom of Chandlersville and Susie Tom of New Concord; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis Best, who passed away April 3, 1975; four sisters; and two brothers.
Private visitation for the family will be held at Mock-Miller Funeral Home, 63 W. Main St., New Concord.
Graveisde services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, in the New Concord Cemetery, with the Rev. Martin Radcliff officiating.
In lieu of flower memorial contributions may be made to the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund or Genesis Hospice.
