Alan L. Berry, 77, of La Hoya, died at Hillcrest Hospice March 4, 2012, after a courageous battle against cancer. Born in East Bridgewater, Mass., April 17, 1934, he was the youngest of five siblings born to the late Myrtle M. (DeWinter) and Arthur V. Berry. He was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School, Class of 1953, and Suffolk University in Boston in1957. Mr. Berry had made his home in California the past 50 years, worked over 30 years as a division manager for Lockheed Aircraft and was a proud Army veteran. Partner of 46 years of Ed Meacham, he was the brother of Evelyn M. Mitchell of East Bridgewater and the late Dorothy Tkaczuk and Arthur T. and James Berry; brother-in-law of M. Elaine Berry of East Bridgewater; uncle of Elaine M. McKeown of Plympton, Mass., Robert A. Mitchell of East Bridgewater, Marilyn D. Mitchell of Brockton, Mass., Ann Crete of Georgia, John Tkaczuk of Georgia and Richard Tkaczuk of North Carolina. Alan is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews; and dear friends including Joseph Alexander of Boston and John Mullich and his wife Rita of California. Funeral service in the Prophett-Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Friday at 1 p.m. Visiting hour beginning 12 p.m. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, Mass.
