Floyd was born in Turnersville, Texas, to the late Edgar M. and Rebecca E. Carlyle Berry. He attended school in Gatesville. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He was a barber in Fort Hood for many years. Floyd was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joycelyn Berry.
Survivors include his wife, Wavaley Berry; twin brother, Boyd Berry; three sons; and a daughter from a previous marriage.
