BERRY, Mr. Arthur Merit, 87, of Powhatan, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 5, 1926, in Farmville, to the late Arthur T. and Hattie Oliver Berry. He was a retired supervisor at Continental Baking Company. He is survived by his children, Bonnie Kay Sullivan of Nashville, Tenn., Barbara Ann of Columbia, S.C. and Robert Lewis Berry of Appomattox, Va.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Louise B. Walter of Farmville; and two nieces, Betty Jo Timberlake of Powhatan, Va. and Sandra Green of Cumberland, Va. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Berry; and sister, Bernice B. Warren. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond, Va.
