Daughter of Charles P. Murphy and Rosa Black Murphy

THOMASVILLE--Mrs. Bernice Brown Murphy Berrier--77, died July 25, 2001, at home. She was born in Thomasville on July 29, 1923, a daughter of Charles P. and Rosa Black Murphy. She was a graduate of Ashmore Business College. She was a member of Pine Woods United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Charles Hunt Victory Class and the United Methodist Women. She served as a church organist for many years. She had retired from Bank of America in Thomasville, as vice president of operations. On June 13, 1942, she was married to Joel Francis (Bill) Berrier, who died on February 28, 1988.
Surviving are a son, Joel Preston Berrier and his wife, Denise, of Monroe, a brother, Raeford Murphy of Raleigh; three sisters in law, Mrs. Rachel Sink of Thomasville, and Mrs. Ann Berrier and Mrs. Ethel Miller; both of Winston-Salem, 4 grandchildren.Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pine Woods United Methodist Church by Rev.
