NORTH OGDEN - Agnes Holmes Roylance Berrett, 93, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning December 6, 2006 at the Gardens Assisted Living Center in Ogden, Utah, of causes incident to age.
She was born December 2, 1913, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Lamoni and Anna Van Boerum Holmes. She was educated in the Ogden city schools and graduated from Ogden High School.
She married Hyrum L. Roylance on October 12, 1935. To this union a son, Larry William Roylance was born. Her husband Hyrum passed away June 15, 1940.
On May 7, 1942 she married Donald Thomas Berrett in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 44 years until he passed away on November 8, 1986.
Agnes resided in North Ogden most of her life. She was a nurse's aide during World War II for several years at McKay Hospital and Bushnell Hospital in Brigham City, Utah. Agnes retired from the Defense Depot Ogden after working for 25 years for the federal government.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions including serving in the Primary, Sunday School and the Young Women's program. She served in the Presidency of the Relief Society as Secretary, as a Supervisor over the Visiting Teaching program for 17 years, Compassionate Service Leader and a Visiting Teacher for many years.
Mother loved life. She loved every season of the year. She loved flowers and sunshine and all the beautiful things on earth. She enjoyed reading the scriptures and church books and liked to knit and crochet. She enjoyed eating out with her family and enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz and Little House on the Prairie. She enjoyed family gatherings and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's blessings and baptisms.
She is survived by her children, Louise Daniels, North Ogden; Marian (John Perry) Slater, Farr West; Robb D (Judy) Berrett, North Ogden; Richard T. Berrett, North Ogden; and a daughter-in-law, Elaine H. Roy-lance, North Ogden; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchil-dren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hyrum L. Roylance; husband, Donald T. Berrett; her son, Larry W. Roylance; her son-in-law, William Lee Daniels; her sisters; Pearl DeBloois, Helen Baker, Leona Rhees, Alta Baldwin and Ellen Evans; her brothers, Raymond L. Holmes and Robert M. Holmes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 2nd Ward, 770 East 2100 North, North Ogden.
Friends may call at Myers Mortuary, Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., on Sunday, December 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the North Ogden 2nd Ward Chapel.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Gardens Assisted Living Center for their love and care for their mother and Alpine and Hospice at Intermountain Home Care.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions can be made to the LDS Missionary Fund.
Interment at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
