Died Tuesday, February 5, 1985 at his residence in Brusly. He was 70, a life-long resident of Brusly. He was a partner in the CPA firm of Bernard, Robbins, and Cavanaugh, and a veteran of World War II. Visitation at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Requiem Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly at 1 p.m. Wednesday, celebrated by Monsignor Gerald Lefebvre. Burial in the church cemetery. Survived by wife, Mrs. Rosemary LeBlanc Bernard, Brusly; five daughters, Mrs. Ronald J. (Babs) Babin and Mrs. Chris D. (Alice) LeBlanc, both of Brusly, Mrs. K. Michael (Pat) Blanchard, Baton Rouge, Mrs. Eugene (Ellen) Williams, Baker, and Mrs. Curtis J. (Bonnie) Breaux Jr., Plaquemine; two sisters, Mrs. Everette (Althee)Banker, Arlington, Texas and Mrs.James J. (Tootie)Larkin, St. Thomas Virgin Islands; a brother, Leonard E. Bernard, Brusly; 9 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Bernard Weiler; two granddaughters, Kristy and Kathy Weiler; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Henry Bernard, Sr.; and two sisters, Mrs. Rita Bernard Poche and Hattie Bernard Tregre. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Louisiana Society of CPA's. He was a charter member and past president of Brusly Lions Club. Pallbearers will be Louis Mouch, Jr., J. Harvey Blanchard Jr., Floyd J. "Cubbie" Landry, Gene Alexander, Lawrence T. (Tommy) Gascon, and Albert Mayeux.
