Christal A. Bassett, age 59, of 133 S. Fourth Street, Manistique, Michigan, passed away Sunday morning, September 1, 2013, at her home.
Christal was born February 18, 1954, the daughter of Carl and Connie (Coffey) Berglund. She graduated from Manistique High School. Following High School she proudly served in the United States Navy.
She was employed by the Department of Natural Resources Forestry Service as an office clerk.
Christal was a member of the First Baptist Church of Manistique. She loved spending time with her boys and just being a home body
She is survived by her sons, Troy (Shannon Gerlach) Bassett of Manistique and Tim (Shayla) Bassett of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Cameron Adams and Kayla Erickson; great-granddaughter, Grace Lyn Putman; brother, Charles (Kelly) Berglund of Manistique; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Fairview Cemetery, in Manistique with Rev. Jay Martin officiating.
