Fond du Lac Reporter, Sun. Apr. 20, 1997, p. B8, c. 2. Alice Theresa Berenz, 73, of N7649 Highway 149, Town of Taycheedah, died Friday, April 18, 1997, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on July 7, 1923, in St. Peter, a daughter of John L. and Josephine M. Knaus Schmitz. On Feb. 10, 1942, she married Raymond F. Berenz at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter. Mrs. Berenz was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers Society, Daughters of Isabella, St. Francis Nursing Home Auxiliary, and the Retired Postal Workers Union. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for more than 15 years. Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Loretta Bittner and her husband John of Chilton, and Lillian Foote and her husband James of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Lester P. and his wife Cecilia of Plymouth, Eugene W. and his wife Mae of Green Bay, and John J. and his wife JoAnn of Brookfield; nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, John E. Kelly, and Orville Schmitz and his wife Helen, both of fond du Lac, and Lawrence Birkauser and his wife Frances of Albuquerque, N.M., and five sisters-in-law: Irma Entringer of Fond du Lac, Marion Schmitz of North Fond du Lac, Claramae Sippel of St. Cloud, Marlene Berenz of Fond du Lac and Mary Berenz of Appleton. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Albert R., Francis A. and Arnold; two sisters, Veronica Entringer and Dolores C. Kelly; and four brothers-in-law, Albert Entringer, Joseph Sippel, Richard Berenz and Jerome Berenz. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Monday a Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter. The Rev. William Heffron will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a parish vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. A memorial in her name has been established.
