Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brennan Funeral Home for John P. Berberick, 72, 1412 Glencoe, who died Thursday morning at a Topeka hospital following an extended illness. An autopsy is scheduled to determine cause of death. He was born June 28, 1904 in Topeka, where he lived most of most his life. He owned and operated restaurants in Topeka, Rossville, and Delia.

He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, and American War Dads, both at Topeka, and the American Legion at Rossville.

He married Elizabeth Pfeifer in 1935. She died in 1959. He married Annie Plants on April 23, 1960. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, John Berberick, Cherryvale,and William J. Berberick, 417 Green; three stepsons, Clarence Plants, 8052 W.W. Auburn Road, Jacob Plants, Paonia, Colo., and Robert Plants, El Paso, Texas; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Edith Reed, 3418 Rochester Road; two brothers, Jacob Berberick, 538 N. Lime, and William L. Berberick, 536 Scotland; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Corber,
554 Scotland, and Mrs. Anna Williams, Kathleen, Ga.; and 24 grandchildren.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Berberick will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
