Anna Ruth Willis Benton, 88, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born in Ewing, VA on March 16, 1926, a daughter of the late Walter and Sarah Lynn Grabell Willis. She had been a teacher in the public school system for many years. Everyone called Ruth by the name of "Nana", she had a special way with people and was loved and remembered by many who knew her. Ruth was a lady and "a lady always knows when to leave."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her long time partner, Ray Brown and a brother, Winston Willis.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah L. Sutton and partner, Dorothy Rose; grandchildren, Joshua Sutton, Jordan Sutton and Paige Coffey; great-grandchildren, Chloe' Coffey; Alex and Allen Sheckles; Lily and Lyla Sutton, a friend by her side, Ruby Rose and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Following Ruth's request, she was cremated at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville. Graveside services will be held in Manassas, Virginia at a later date.
