Services for James W. Benton, 59, 1320 Fairview, Caldwell, who died Monday, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel in Caldwell. Officiating will be the Rev. Walden Askren and a Navy Chaplain. Interment will be in Canyon Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Navy.

He was born Aug 26, 1906, at Madisonville, Ky. He attended school at Guthrie, Ky., and enlisted in the U. S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War, having received the following medals; The Good Conduct; American Defense; American Theatre; Asiatic Pacific Victory Bar; Philippine Liberation; and the Korea and United Nations bars. After his retirement from the Navy, he married Mrs. Benton, May 17, 1952, at Yuma, Ariz., and they came to Caldwell in 1955, where he had since lived.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Benton; a son, Bill Benton, of Columbia, S. C.; a sister, Mrs. Amelia Balee and a brother Edward Benton of Guthrie, Ky.; four grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Heart Fund.
