Louise B. Baldwin , 87, Kearney, MO, died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Fry Chapel, Kearney; burial in Smithville Cemetery, Smithville, MO.
Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to the Christian Ridge Quartet, c/o First Christian Church, 105 Prospect, Kearney, MO 64060.
Mrs. Baldwin was born October 27, 1910, in Clay County, MO, to Preston and Rosa Barnard Benson. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1927. Mrs. Baldwin attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College from 1930 to 1933. She taught elementary school for a brief time and also worked at the Lake City Arsenal during WWII.
She lived in Smithville before moving to Kearney in 1974. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge in Smithville, and a member of the Kearney First Christian Church, where she was a past trustee and elder emeritus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, in 1983. She is survived by several cousins and many good friends.
