Virginia "Jenny" Mae Arnott, 79, a longtime resident of Klamath Falls, died May 5, 1998.
Mrs. Arnott was born to Herman and Marguerite (Crane) Bennett in Clare, Mich. She grew up in the Michigan area and lived with several aunts after her mother died when she was 10.
She married Edward Arnott in the early 1940s. The couple later moved to California. After living in several locations in California, the couple moved to Arizona. In 1966, her husband died of a heart attack.
Mrs. Arnott moved to Klamath Falls in 1969 with her cousin and cousin's husband. She worked as a cook in several restaurants, including JoJi's the Bus Depot, A&W and Honey Bear.
After retirement she moved to the Clairmont Residential Center where she was a resident activity director and care taker for many.
Among her interests were playing cards and bingo, making craft and ceramic items, and going for van rides. She belonged to the Klamath Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her cousin and spouse, Betty and Chris E. Strong of Klamath Falls; brother, Harold Bennett of Fraser, Mich.; sister-in-law, Mattie Bennett of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, and a brother.
