Charles E. Bennett, 79, Shelbyville, died Sunday at his home.

Born July 16, 1920, in Shelbyville, he was the son of
George W. and Elizabeth(Rouse)Bennett.

He married Deloris Pearl(Craig)Bennett on Feb. 10, 1940, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 1997.

Mr. Bennett was employed in the maintenance department of Shelbyville Central Schools, until he retired.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Bennett, Shelbyville, and Linda Charwenske, Big Pine Key, Fla.; five sons, Norman Bennett, Semour, Ronnie Bennett, Danny Bennett and Rudy Bennett, all of Fairland, and Bobby Bennett, Blue Ridge; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service.

Burial will be in Miller Cemtery, Shelby Couny.

Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
