Mrs. Helen L. (Lynn H.) Bennett, 85, of 3832 W. Scioto Mills Rd., died Monday morning at her home of an apparent heart attack.
She attended the Universities of Illinois and Wisconsin and taught in area schools, including Damascus and Harlem School in Freeport. A member of First Baptist Church and the Goodwill Sunday School class, she was also a member of the Damascus Woman's Missionary Society, Stephenson County Historical Society and National Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mildred (Eugene G.) Wolf of Erin, Tenn.; two sisters. Mrs. Evelyn (Leland) Tippetts of Freeport and Mrs. Rebecca (Vance) Sisson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Theodore Phillips, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Cedarville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established for First Baptist Church.
