Mrs. Carolyn Faye Bennett, 71, a resident of Lumberton went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2017. She was born in Robeson County on January 17, 1946 to the late Walt Ward and Myrtle New.

Carolyn was a Creative Artist, Worker of the home, and an Eastern Star Member. She enjoyed meeting new people and finding ways to brighten their day. Her love for family and friends was unsurpassed and she cherished her beloved animals.

She is survived by her Husband Gene, Daughters Jan (Rick) and Candy (Matt), Granddaughter Lily, Brother Carl (Joyce), several nieces and nephews, cousins and very special friends.

A memorial service celebrating her life was held on Thursday, March 16th at 3pm at the First Baptist Church Chapel, with Dr. David Elks and Rev. Timothy Bell officiating. The service concluded with You are My Sunshine as her husband and family exited. Gene and Carolyn were married in the FBC Chapel 40 years earlier.
