Marylu (Jeffries) Bennett, 84 of rural Downing, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
The daughter of William Olin and Evafae (Schupbach) Jeffries, she was born on September 25, 1931 in rural Downing, Missouri. She was a graduate of the Downing High School in Downing, Missouri. On June 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Irvin Bennett and to this union three children were born, Janet, Roger and Jeff.
Survivors include her children, Janet Blaise of Downing, Missouri, Roger Bennett and wife, Debra of Kirksville, Missouri and Jeff Bennett and wife, Missy of Downing, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, David Lynn Blaise and wife, Cheryl of Ottumwa, Iowa, Jennifer Mayers and husband, Eli of Adams, Tennessee, Brian Blaise and wife, Sheila of Queen City, Missouri, Sabrina Basinger and husband, Jeff of Columbia, Missouri, Taylor Bennett of Columbia, Missouri, Tabitha Bennett of Downing, Missouri, Amber Miller of Trenton, Missouri, Jessica and Shelby Bennett both of Downing, Missouri; 7 great grandchildren, Karenza, Keily and Persephanie Blaise of Queen City, Missouri, Grace and Jeremiah Mayers of Adams, Tennessee and Hailey and Ares Aguero of Downing, Missouri; 1 brother, Royce Jeffries and wife, Sara of Downing, Missouri; nieces and nephews and other family members.
Marylu is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Irvin on November 4, 2012.
Marylu was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was also a leader with the 4H Clubs in the area for a number of years.
Marylu and Irvin farmed on the family farm raising Registered Duroc Hogs for many years. When she was not helping on the farm, she was involved with the 4H activities of her children. She was a loving and supportive wife and mother and loved spending time with her family and living on the farm. She was an avid traveler with her daughter, Janet for eight years.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, northeast of Lancaster, Missouri at 1:00 p.m. with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Memorials have been established for Schuyler County Nutrition Site.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, northeast of Lancaster, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
